Quick Troubleshooting Guides

Start here or open Live Chat for more help — many issues resolve in a few steps.

Wi-Fi Connection Problems

  1. Confirm your phone is on the same 2.4 GHz network (Roomba does not use 5 GHz).
  2. Restart your router and the Roomba
  3. In the iRobot app, remove the robot and use the setup flow.
  4. Move closer to the router during pairing and disable VPN if active.

Need more help? Wi-Fi environments can be complex. For a thorough diagnosis, please connect with an agent via Live Chat or Call Support to discuss your specific network configuration.

Not Charging on Dock

  1. Wipe the charging contacts on both the robot and the dock with a dry cloth.
  2. Ensure the dock is plugged into a live outlet and the power LED is on.
  3. Place the Roomba manually on the dock and listen for error sounds/message code.
  4. If still failing, try a different outlet or inspect the power cable for damage.

Note: Charging issues can sometimes be related to hardware or power supply variances. Our support team is available to run remote diagnostics—reach out via phone or chat for a comprehensive check.

Error 1 / 2 / 5 / 6 Patterns

  1. Error 1/2 usually means wheels or brushes need cleaning — remove debris and hair.
  2. Error 5/6 often relates to cliff sensors — wipe the sensors under the bumper.
  3. After cleaning, place the robot on a hard floor and press Clean.
  4. Persistent errors may need a factory reset (check your model’s manual steps).

Important: Error codes can sometimes be a symptom of underlying component issues. To avoid misdiagnosis, speak directly with a support specialist who can walk you through advanced troubleshooting or arrange for service if necessary.
